The Hawks look sharp, but have they peaked too soon? First regulation loss and I can see a letdown. Ducks are still in hot pursuit. I think the Sharks could use another puck moving defenceman.

Just curious: What specifically about this Hawks team makes you think that they'll have a let down after one loss? Meaning... what on their roster makes you think that way.

The only thing I could possibly see faultering is the hawks goalies, but Emery and when Crawford was in are playing really well. They may be able to keep it up but who knows.. They are impressive though (meaning the whole team)!

The sharks are my other team and honestly I watch as many games as I can on the east coast. They made need a puck moving d man as suggested but more than anything I think they need a power forward or at least someone who sticks in front of the net like a patrick hornqvist/ Holmstrom type player. Too much perimeter play in my mind. Although they do have players driving to the net unless a goalie gives up a rebound not much is going to happen!

Well I hate to see my team slumping like this, we have way more talent than we are showing right now, but that being said. Congratulations to the Blackhawks on breaking the record, it is well deserved, and their fans should be happy, and we should be happy for them, it's good for Hockey overall. Cam said it well that they look like a team with a mission. I was unable to watch the 2nd and 3rd game against them, so I'm not really sure how they looked, but I'm sure that it was a fair and balanced game and with the Sharks slumping, Chicago simply wanted it more. I still stand by saying that I feel the Sharks deserved the first of the three games, but that doesn't really matter, in hockey there are games that are won and lost on bad bounces and calls all the time....for every team, it's just a part of the sport. Despite all that the Hawks have found ways to win in each and every situation, and that is the making of a great team....now if my Sharks could just find a way to turn that switch back on.

All in all not a bad game. The Hawks are a team on a mission, kept their composure knowing this record was at stake, I cannot believe a slump is in the cards for this team. The Sharks may have lost but they too are a good team, plenty of time to make moves if things don`t turn around. Too soon to worry!

One of your pretenders should be Doug Wilson, who I loved as a player, but as a GM not so much. Wilson has put together a team that would have been good 15 years ago, big, slow with some toughness but in todays NHL these attributes without speed just don't work. Another pretender is Jumbo Joe who, like a Jumbo shrimp, is showing just how oxymoronical his nickname is. Does anyone one with his size play any smaller?

I think sharks have the guys, they need to stay the course and hopefully, for sharks fans, go into the playoffs with some steam. Every year when the sharks are on the lower parts of their usual roller coaster I read about needed changes. When the sharks are hot they can beat anybody. They do have some big name D men that need to put up better numbers.

All good points, I agree with you that we have all the pieces already...and our GM Doug Wilson also agrees. Our problem isn't a lack of talent, as we showed in the first 7 games, we have the ability to dominate when we are on it, however...when we slump, it spreads like a virus in the locker room. That's why I was happy with the win against the Blues, they are a team that normally has our number, and that win can help let the guys know that the system works and have faith in it. We get into trouble when individuals think they have to do it all, and we have a tendency to only go for pretty goals. This is one area where we can take note from the Hawks, they aren't afraid to get goals that are less than pretty (I used to call these "Iginla Goals"...where you get a goal for standing in the crease and it bounces off your midsection) ...at the end of the day, your win or loss doesn't depend on how pretty the goal is. I didn't see last nights game, but from what I understand, Hawks were not slacking in any shape or form, and it was a pretty close game...so even though it's a loss, I'm hopeful that this is a sign we are coming out of the slump.

Wow, I didn't get to see the game, but I heard about this....I do love how every single Hawk is scared to fight Clowe...and I love how after a cheap hit like that he man handles that little kid. It makes my whole first statement about the Hawks deserving everything they got void....this team is a bunch of whinny babies that only win because of bad calls and non calls...that's it.

We lost, but Clowe doing this made me so proud that the loss is actually worth it...this play showed all of the Hawks (and officals) true colors
